A recall query for about 44,219 Ford E-Series vehicles is being investigated after a series of complaints in 2023 over the loss of power brakes and steering assist.
Throughout 2023, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration received 11 consumer complaints describing vehicles that passed Ford Motor Co.'s inspection after a recall from 2022.
The complaints reported that there were detachments in the power steering lines. The initial solution was the updating of parts in the recalled vehicles, and an inspection of the connection between the power steering pressure line and the hydraulic brake booster.
The reexamination query involves 2021-2022 E-350 and E-450 vehicles that were constructed between 2021 & 2022 that had dual rear wheels.
Ford told NHTSA that it would file a new recall, this one will update parts on vehicles that had not been inspected, as well as vehicles that had passed inspection within the last twelve months.
Currently the query is only an investigation.
